MINNESOTA VALLEY CHAPTER

Join us to make a real difference

(All are welcome)

Sunday, June 8th 12-4 pm

More than a pollinator garden, we are planting the native plants needed to restore the habitat for our native pollinators.

Pollinators like native bees, butterflies, moths, and beetles are essential to the health of the entire Minnesota River ecosystem. Yet their populations are declining due to habitat loss, pesticide use, and climate disruption. By restoring native habitat along the river’s edge, we’re rebuilding a living corridor that provides food, shelter, and nesting sites—reviving the lifelines these species need to survive and thrive.

This project isn’t just about conservation—it’s about connection. Restoring habitat on the riverbanks strengthens the relationship between people and place. It deepens our understanding of how the health of the land, water, and wildlife is intertwined. By bringing back native plants and pollinators, we’re creating a more resilient ecosystem for the future and offering a hands-on opportunity for our community to be part of a living legacy of stewardship.

Habitate Restoration for Pollinators on Sunday June 8th 12-4pm at the William's Nature Center.

This family event will be the first conservation project of the new Jack Loso Chapter of the Izaak Walton League.

Join us as we get our hands in the dirt and kick off a season of meaningful environmental action! Whether you’re a seasoned conservationist or just curious about how to help, this is a chance to make a real impact together. We’ll be planting native species, learning about pollinators, and building community along the banks of the Minnesota River.

Please come prepared: bring a refillable water bottle, wear long pants and closed-toe shoes, and bring a “let’s get it done” attitude! We’ll provide the tools and guidance. You’ll also hear about the exciting environmental leadership opportunities and youth-led conservation service projects we’re planning all summer. Everyone is welcome—we can’t wait to grow something great with you.
