The Stewardship Committee oversees the Minnesota Valley Chapter’s property– the land and the house. It is our goal to make the house and property a reflection of our values and a model of green living.
POLICIES
We write and develop policies for the use of the property. This includes guidelines for conservation and service projects on the property.
PROJECTS
We maintain a list of projects that will increase the sustainability of the house and the property. In the past, this has included the installation of solar panels, insulation, and energy-efficient windows. Moving forward we are upgrading our appliances to heat pumps, rain gardens and maybe even a grey-water system!
LEAVE NO TRACE
The MN Valley Chapter is a community partner of Leave No Trace. Leave No Trace is a set of outdoor ethical principals. They are a guide for minimizing our negative impact on the world. The Stewardship Committee is conscious about following these principles in how we engage with the property.
